The Explorers
Brégançon is an islet administratively attached to the municipality of Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var department. It extends on the Var coast on the east side of the Bay of Hyères, 1.8 to 2.4 miles (3 or 4 km) west of Cap Bénat and 1.8 miles (3 km) south-east of Cap Léoube. At the top of the islet stands a fort chosen as the official summer residence of the President of the French Republic in 1968.
