The past works exhibition space of the Villa du Temps Retrouvé in Cabourg gives pride of place to one of the worldwide most famous and recognized contemporary artists, David Hockney. The villa displays two of his works, including a print on paper of the colorful View of Beuvron-en-Auge (2019) on the right. David Hockney, an English painter born in 1937 in Bradford, Yorkshire, settled in 2019 in Beuvron-en-Auge, a village of two hundred inhabitants located about 9.3 miles (15 km) from Cabourg. Passionate about Marcel Proust and a painter of the successive seasons, David Hockney is also in Normandy in search of the passage of time. The hanging of two of his recent works at the Villa du Temps Retrouvé testifies to the permanent power of inspiration and attraction of the Norman landscapes.
