Formed by a hydroelectric dam, Lake Sainte-Croix has become a hotspot for outdoor activities and water sports. Municipalities bordering the lake like Salles-sur-Verdon, Sainte-Croix and Bauduen have nautical centres and equipped and supervised beaches, such as the Galetas beach on the left of this photo, as well as many small, wilder secret coves. Thermal motorboats are prohibited on the lake, but one can rent electric boats, canoes, kayaks, paddles, or pedal boats to explore the lake or venture into the Verdon Gorges, in the foreground of this photo.
