Notre-Dame-de-Reims cathedral constitutes the peak of 13th-century Gothic art in Europe. The monument still has a clear unity of style despite successive reconstructions. Its 267 ft two facade towers (81.50 m) are higher than Notre-Dame-de-Paris'. A unique collection of 2,303 statues peppers the entire structure. Some are smiling, a particularity that constitutes a novelty in religious iconography at that time. In 2019, Reims Cathedral welcomed 1.6 million visitors.
