A guide on the Seine estuary
The Fatouville lighthouse was inaugurated in 1850 in the town of Fatouville-Grestain in the Eure department. It guided boats on the Seine estuary, considered dangerous and unstable. Some did not hesitate to embark pilots who conducted them to Rouen between the sandbanks. The lighthouses offered extra information at night. Stopped in 1907, Fatouville's was sold to a private owner in 1921. Since 2000, the David family has installed guest rooms inside.
