An unduly named river

At Montereau-Fault-Yonne, where the two rivers meet, the Seine has an average flow of 80 m3/sec and the Yonne 93 m3/sec. Considering that the smaller should become a tributary of the other, the Seine should be called the Yonne when crossing Paris. Following such principle, the Garonne should be called Tarn, and the Rhine should be the Aar. In the USA, the Mississippi should be called Ohio, and, in India, the Ganges should be known as Yamuna. However, the Seine was sacred to the druids, who called it Sequana, and was considered a divinity by the Romans, unlike the Yonne.
