The Luberon Regional Nature Park extends over 1149.5 sq mi (1,850 km²) from east to west across the departments of Vaucluse and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. It is organized around three main massifs (Eastern Luberon, Grand Luberon, Petit Luberon) and the large site of the Massif des Ocres (photo). The Luberon Regional Nature Park is separated from the Verdon Regional Nature Park to the east by the Durance and has three other watersheds (Calavon-Coulon, Largue, and Laye). Seventy-seven municipalities home to almost 184,000 inhabitants have joined the park.
