A Renaissance landmark

0
The end of the Middle Ages and the transition to the Renaissance gave Riquewihr an original Germanic appearance, with its half-timbered houses. With time and fashions, a modern veneer was sometimes applied to the moldings and decorations of their facades. The SAR (Society of History and Archeology) has long been providing advice on the renovation of these Renaissance landmarks to protect the architectural heritage of Riquewihr and its region.
