Alain André, the manager of the farm La Grange de la Haute Vallée in Pignou, Cantal, is a breeder of the 21st century. He has converted the farm’s old buildings to improve the well-being of his 40 dairy cows. The stable has been stripped of its fences, allowing the herd to move freely inside during the winter. The manager has also created modern dairy and cheese factory that guarantee all sanitary standards. In addition to an on-site shop, the farm sells its cheeses online via the Drive fermier Cantal 15, which allows customers to pick up their purchases at collection points in Aurillac, Murat and Prunet.
