An eco-museum in Verzenay

0
In Verzenay, a lighthouse worthy of the Breton coast is immersed in a sea of vines. This 25-metre high building can be seen from afar. Its founder, Joseph Goulet, a wine merchant, had it built in 1909 to promote his champagne brand. Abandoned for years, it was bought by the commune of Verzenay in 1987. An eco-museum of the vine was inaugurated in 1994 in a new building constructed at the foot of the lighthouse. It allows visitors to discover the characteristics and specificities of the terroirs, the annual cycle of vine work and the wine-making process.
