Gilles Moyne, Director of the Centre Athénas in l'Étoile near Lons-le-Saunier, is passionate about nature and his Jura region. Summer and winter alike, he roams the forests where the center has released 21 lynxes found injured or abandoned and taken care of. Many members of the Centre Athénas roam the forest to thwart traps, as poaching is among the scourges endangering the species. A watch unit has been set up, especially in autumn and winter when the animals are more vulnerable.
