A half-moon shape crater
0
0
The peculiarity of the Puy de la Vache basaltic volcano is the half-moon shape of its crater. Born from the same eruptive fissure as its twin, Puy de Lassolas, it displays the same shape open in a horseshoe towards the south. The particular physiognomy of the crater is linked to the eruptive pressure of the lava flow that carried away part of the volcano's original cone.
