The Verdon is fed by the abundant precipitations prevailing in the upper part of its basin. Nowadays, its floods are not very important because of their powerful regulation by a series of dams equipping the river's course. Its 1000-year floods, estimated at 1,200 m3/s, are incomparable with those of the neighboring Durance or Var. As for Verdon's maximum recorded daily flow, it reached 668 m3/s on November 6, 1994.
