The Marseille soap factory that operated the Fer à Cheval brand between 1953 and 1974 was purchased on that date by the Salador group. It became the operator of Le Chat soap, held by the Union Générale des Savonneries that had several successive owners. It was not until 2008 that Fer à Cheval made a comeback in the field of soap production with an enriched cosmetic range still based on its flagship product: Savon de Marseille.
