A horse born from the foam
0
0
The Camargue horse is closely linked to the sea. A regional legend even claims that it was born from its foam. A man is said to have thrown himself into the sea to escape a black bull chasing him. A stallion - presented as the ancestor of all Camargue horses - would then have emerged from the foam to save him and would have told him that he would never be his slave but his friend. From that day would date the unbreakable bond between the Camargue people and the Camargue horse.
