The Vassal-Montpellier Vineyard Biological Resource Center (CRB-Vigne) contains the central French ampelographic collection. It was created in 1876 at the Montpellier School of Agriculture and then established in 1949 on the Vassal estate in Marseillan-plage. It has been gradually enriched and now houses more than 7,800 accessions from around fifty countries. The CRB-Vigne is entirely dedicated to the characterization, development, and conservation of vine genetic resources.
