An approved wildlife care center

0
The SOPTOM (Station for the Observation and Protection of Tortoises and their Environments) manages an approved wildlife care center within the Tortoise Village of Carnoules, dedicated to Hermann's tortoises or Maures tortoises (Testudo hermanni) and European Pond Turtles (Emys orbicularis). Walkers are encouraged to bring there the injured tortoises they find in nature so that they can be taken care of, rehabilitated, and eventually released into their natural environment - as here by Franck Bonin and Stéphane Gagno - in accordance with the protection legislation of these species.
