Cap Ferré - with its natural pool (the Blue Eye) - is one of the highlights of the Trace des Caps, the most famous and longest hike in Martinique. This easy trail winds for 17.3 miles (28 km) along the south Atlantic coast of the island between Anse Caritan in the municipality of Sainte-Anne and Anse Macabou south of Le Vauclin. It allows hikers to follow the coastline dotted with beaches and bordered by wooded or more deserted areas - such as the Savane des Pétrifications - passing in particular by the Salines, Anse Trabaud, Baie des Anglais, Cap Chevalier, and Cap Macré.
