Fort des Têtes is an entrenched camp of large dimensions built from earth and dry stones in the fortified city of Briançon in the Hautes-Alpes department. It stretches as a convex polygon located at the eastern military ridge of the eponymous plateau, and its plan is part of a regular bastioned system based at the rear on the escarpments of the Durance gorges. The fort's gorge front is made up of lines of defense whose enclosures protect several logistical buildings (guardhouse, barracks, powder magazines, arsenal, etc).
