From the 1950s and 1960s, actors, artists, and writers transformed Saint-Paul-de-Vence into a vibrant cultural center. The big names of French and international cinema, attracted to the Côte d'Azur by the Victorine studios in Nice and the Cannes Film Festival, met there at the Colombe d'Or, the inn located at the entrance of the village.
