A massive silver block

The Tellure Park extends on the same underground site where numerous silver veins were discovered in the 16th century, causing what would later be known as the silver fever. A detailed report by Guillaume Prechter, in 1602, told that a miner in 1581 discovered a block of silver shaped like a man covered in armor. The silver looked as if fir branches were piled up with feathers, curly grasses, and flowers. The mineral mass discovered in Tellure weighed 1,084 lbs (492 kg).
