The boreal lynx (Lynx lynx carpathicus) is attached to forest environments whose biotope perfectly meets its requirements. It finds its favorite preys (medium-sized ungulates, hares, small carnivores, small mammals, birds) and can hunt from a hide there. The Jura forests with abundant undergrowth composed of low vegetation of bramble bushes, ferns and shrubs allow it to hide to approach the preys it stalks. As for the steep areas with rocky bars of the Jura massif, they provide it with cavities for calving and day lodgings with an appreciable thermal comfort.
