0
The Chausey archipelago extends over approximately 4,242 acres (2,000 ha) at low tide north of the Baie du Mont-Saint-Michel. Over a rectangle approximately 4 miles (6.5 km) wide by 7,45 miles (12 km) long, it includes 365 islets at low tide, only 52 of which emerge at high tide. They are sometimes connected by sand banks and cords known as tombolos. 4,34 miles (7km) long by 3,10 miles (5 km) wide, its biggest island is inhabited and only 10 miles (17 km) from Granville.
