The Breguet 14 A2 was ordered by the French army in 300 units as soon as it was tested in January 1917. The reconnaissance aircraft was equipped with a Gaumont film camera and an E3 radio that allowed the pilot to communicate in real time the information collected in flight. In May 1917, the B2 version of the Breguet 14 was also capable of carrying 300 kg of bombs. The arrival of the Breguet 14 on the front marked a decisive advance in daylight bombing. Other allied countries, such as Belgium and the United States, ordered it and until the end of the war more than 5,500 aircraft of this type would be produced.
