A sure-footed animal

In the vineyards, the draught horses (Equus ferus caballus) are usually Percherons or Ardennais. Their walk is slow and measured. They are strong and resistant horses. The use of draught horses is more common on small farms, sometimes associated with organic farming, such as in the vineyards of Champagne Marguet. The main interest of the horse lies in the great precision of its work. The animal is particularly useful on land that is difficult to access with a tractor (small, terraced or very steep plots, for example).
