A tributary both lively and calm
The 102 miles (165.7 km) long Verdon is a tributary of the Durance that changes aspect but always preserves a water of remarkable color. It is as lively and bubbling in its impressive gorges and whitewater currents as it is calm and serene when its course joins one of the four lakes it feeds: Esparron, Quinson, Sainte-Croix, and Castillon (photo) near Castellane.
