Uda Walawe National Park is a Sri Lanka National Park located in the south of the country on the border of Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, near the town of Embilipitiya. It takes its name from the large Uda Walawe reservoir built in the 1960s on the Walawe River2. This body of water still plays a central role in the park, as elephants and other animals come to drink.
