The Kuhl's Lorikeet belongs to the Psittacidae family, with very colorful plumages. It is thanks to the Tyndall effect, an optical phenomenon, that it has green feathers and more locally blue ones because it synthesizes neither blue nor green pigments. Its sexual dimorphism being non-existent, the most reliable method of sexing is genetic sexing.
