Two hurricanes in November
2
0
In November, Honduras suffered two hurricanes back to back, Eta and Iota. At Macaw Mountain, in Copán, with the activation of the emergency protocols and with the involvement of the entire team present on site, the staff and the birds in the centre were safe.
The passage of Hurricane Iota caused a bit of structural damage at the park that was able to be quickly repaired. All the birds remain safe and sound, and even the last of the 2020 babies came out of the nest for the first time the day right after the storm, as a sign of hope!
