Given the orography, two distinct types of agriculture are found in Corsica. Plant production (fodder crops, cereals), viticultural production and fruit crops (citrus fruits) are extended over the coastal plains, which are more easily irrigable. More traditional agriculture, based on the breeding, chestnuts cultivation, and olives trees cultivation is developed on hillsides and mountains.
