Tumakohua: the shark paradise
2
0
In Fakarava southern pass, Tumakohua is world famous for its underwater life. Grey sharks are particularly abundant in the area. This strong presence is mainly due to the large variety of potential preys and also to the powerful currents. Grey sharks are also referred to as real sharks. They cannot breathe without being in motion. In the pass, this breathing is assisted by the relatively fast currents.
