Neither aggressive nor toxic, Trichonephila edulis is a spider with significant sexual dimorphism : the female is much larger than the male with a body of 0.9in (23mm) long against 0.2in (6mm). The male occupies the edge of the web woven by the female between the branches of dead trees. In addition to their yellow color, the webs have the peculiarity of containing strings of debris made up of the remains of insects eaten by the spider.
