Tribute to Haute-Marne foundries

With more than 250 tools and machinery dedicated to cast iron, the Conservatory of Metallurgical Arts is a tribute to the casting masters of the Haute-Marne department. Located in Dommartin-le-Franc, the site was first used to work metal by Cistercian monks in the 12th century. After centuries of inactivity, the foundry really developed during the 18th century. Today, the almost unaltered buildings host a museum dedicated to art foundry.
