The intergenerational transmission is essential to the survival of the Polynesian ancestral culture and practices. Present in all areas - linguistic, artistic, artisanal... - it allows the maintenance of the local cultural identity while welding communities often living in isolation. In this photo, we can witness the transmission of a universal know-how : the making of fire by friction of two pieces of wood.
