Air turning of wood

The air-turning of wood allows a piece of wood to be machined by holding it on the wood lathe from one side only, unlike turning between centers. The piece of wood is fixed on the motor side on the fixed headstock of the lathe thanks to a tool of the mandrel, cup or plate type which makes it possible to hold it during its rotation. With this method, the wood fiber can be parallel or perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
