During the breeding period, the male village weaver builds a first nest. Once a female is settled and incubating, the male starts to build a second nest to attract a new female. In this way, the village weaver may have up to five females, each one in a different nest. If no female is interested by the nest, the male entirely destroys it and weaves a new one.
