Tiga, towards self-sufficiency
1
0
Tiga, the smallest island in the Loyalty archipelago, lives as much as possible in self-sufficiency. The locals cultivate yams and sweet potatoes in the fields of the island's upper plateau and fish various fish and shellfish on the reef flat. The island, which hosts some coastal coconut plantations (photo), also has a small production of copra.
