Stalactites can have various and sometimes excentric shapes. They can be massive or coralloid (similar to fine branches of coral), acicular (in the shape of needles), which constitute tufts of feathery aragonite. Aragonite occurs when CaCO3 is combined with magnesium, it evolves into white, vitreous calcite, sometimes tinged with an organic mineral it has been through. This is the case in the Qanono Cave where all kinds of concretions are found.
