The Yonne, pictured here at Joigny, is classified navigable over 67 miles (108 km), from Auxerre to Montereau, thanks to a network of twenty-six locks with a minimum size of 305 feet (93 m) by 27.2 feet (8.30 m). It is linked to the Saône by the Burgundy Canal - which begins at Migennes south of Joigny - and to the Loire by the Nivernais Canal starting from Auxerre.
