The world's oldest maya heritage site
3
0
It is the oldest Mayan construction ever discovered in the world. In 2020, Japanese archaeologist Takeshi Inomata from the University of Arizona and his entire team discovered the site of Aguada Félix. Thanks to LIDAR laser technology, scientists were able to detect from aerial shots that a site was hidden under vegetation. The building is located in Tabasco, Mexico, and was built around 1000-800 BC. Larger than the largest pyramid in Egypt, it is 1.5 kilometers long and 400 meters wide.
