For centuries Riquewihr has been renowned for both its architecture and its wines. Recognized worldwide, they are known as the Pearl of the Alsatian vineyard. The city is made up of half-timbered houses from the 13th to the 18th century, closely attached. Winegrower's tools and a restored kitchen are displayed in the Maison du Vigneron (winegrower's house), dating from the 16th century. Riquewihr is classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
