The white wines of the Clos de Vougeot
At the Clos de Vougeot, the monks decided to produce mass wine in the 12th century. This was the start of white wine production in Burgundy. Today, the production of chardonnay and chablis is as famous as the production of red wines. During the Tastevinage at the Château du Clos de Vougeot, white and red wines are selected, tested, and awarded. The reputation of white Burgundian wines is highly successful.
