Located north of Apt and at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse, the locality of Rustrel owes its fame to its open-air ocher quarries, fully exploited from 1880 to 1950. These deposits have made the past wealth of the village and continue to ensure it the touristic income linked to the Provençal Colorado.
