Located in a 200-meter-deep gorge, the Vouglans dam is the third largest water reservoir in France with a storage capacity of 600 million cubic meters of water. Created in 1968, this dam has above all a function of electricity production. This electricity production, produced from a renewable energy source that does not emit greenhouse gases, saves the equivalent of 350,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
