The UDC (left) and 121 (right) Towers were strategically positioned to mark the entrance of the artificial archipelago The Pearl to Doha, the capital of Qatar. The 42-storey UDC Tower houses the headquarters of the United Development Company, the developer of the Pearl-Qatar real estate transaction. It is the first of the seven towers in the Abraj district to obtain the “GSAS” Gold certification, a sustainable development label of the Gulf countries that rewards the efforts of construction and operation to minimize carbon emissions and the energy footprint of buildings. The UDC Tower houses offices, a health club, restaurants, an eight-storey car park and benefits from the district’s urban cooling technology, which has led to significant energy savings.
