The tourist image of Serre-Ponçon site

Located in Saint-Michel bay, the eponymous islet and chapel emerging from Serre-Ponçon lake are an integral part of the lake landscape born from the impoundment of the dam in the early 1960s and contribute to the tourism promotion of the site. If docking on the islet is prohibited, cruises allow you to approach it and, when the water level is low enough, it is accessible on foot from the Roustourias peninsula, 820ft (250m) away.
