The Sainte Odile Chapel is the place that most attracts pilgrims in Mont Sainte-Odile sanctuary. A large tombstone houses a sarcophagus that can be seen through three forged grilles. Here lies Sainte Odile, at the very place she is said to have died. She asked to be buried in the same chapel her mother did. Two 17th-century bas-reliefs surmount the tomb, surrounded by Renaissance-style oak woodwork walls. The chapel consists of a Romanesque nave from the 11th and 12th centuries and a Gothic choir from the 14th century.
