The giraffe is the tallest land animal on Earth. At birth, the foal is about 6,5 ft (2 meters) tall. Once mature, females are usually smaller than males. They have an average size between 11 ft and 13 ft (3,5 meters and 4 meters), whereas males have an average size of 13 ft to 16 ft (4 meters to 5 meters). The biggest bulls may reach up to 19 ft (6 meters) high.
