To shape a glass piece from a mass of molten glass, the master glassmaker first collects the product on his cane from the furnace. He then successively blows the glass, cools it, reheats it in the furnace, or even adds more molten glass to the mass. The craftsman repeats the different steps until obtaining the desired volume and shape.
