The sole skyscraper of Paris

With foundations sunk 70 metres below ground, 59 floors plus a panoramic terrace, the Montparnasse Tower broke all records in Europe at the time of its construction (1973). It was the tallest tower (210 metres) in France until the construction of the First Tower in La Défense in 2011 (231 metres). From its panoramic terrace, the highest in Paris, you can see the capital in 360 degrees, like the Empire State Building in New York or the London Eye in London. In a few years’ time, the tower will be transformed into a bright, transparent and even taller building, with the installation of a greenhouse at the top.
